 Izumo Taisha is the place where all the gods gather once a year in October.

In other places, October is called 'Kan-nazuki,' which means the month when there are no gods. However, in the area where Izumo Taisha is located, October is called 'Kami-arizuki,' which means the month when the gods are present.
