Iran is the Persian Kingdom.
Iraq is Mesopotamia, Babylonia.
That's apparently it.
It would be a mistake to look at the country's downward-looking appearance in the first period of its history and think that it was a developing country in the Middle East.
Back in the pre-Christian era, when we Japanese were living off berries, they were building a kingdom. A gigantic nation. Make no mistake. Have you ever heard of the Sassanid Empire in history class? That's Iran and that area. Have you ever heard of the Tigris and Euphrates Rivers? That's that area. It's now Iraqi territory.
After World War II, Americans established an oil company in Iran and apparently restored the Shah to power. Wasn't this disrespectful to the Iranian-Persian Kingdom? I heard that the Islamic scholar Ayatollah Khomeini was quite angry. I believe it was Ayatollah Khomeini.
