The Translations: I just saw St. Lawrence Island, Alaska.

I did a little research on St. Lawrence Island, Alaska.

This is where my theory of wind power generation in cold regions seems to be viable. I've written about it in an article about Iceland. I think this method would be possible on St. Lawrence Island as well, since the climate here is known for its frequent strong winds. When I looked into it, it seemed to be written that this was the case.Of course, it would be better to continue using oil-fired thermal power generation. However, wind power plants can be constructed by building many wind turbines on a large site. This method can then be used to obtain a huge amount of electricity. In this case, if the land is not prone to depletion of energy or has little wind, it is suitable for this method. In that case, although this land is in a cold region, the disadvantages of cold regions can be overcome by the power of enormous amounts of electricity.

Specifically, first of all, factories. Factories can only operate if there is a huge amount of electricity. That is why factories can be built.

And heating. Heating can be done with electricity. The heating equipment runs on an electric heater made of nichrome wire.

And water. I have a lot of ice, so I can melt it with an electric heater to make water. Of course, I can make hot water too, right?

Moreover, as long as the construction costs can be managed, wind power generation costs zero compared to fuel resources like oil. It is priceless. Therefore, the electricity bills paid by each household can be kept very low.

Oh, right, is it the midnight sun around here? Even in areas with midnight sun, it's possible to make the street lights always light up.

Using electric motors for fishing boats... that might be best avoided because of the risk of electrocution. However, other costs would be significantly reduced. So, it might be possible to cover the fuel costs of the fishing boats. If this system works well, a cannery will probably be built nearby, and the fish could be sold there, which would bring in huge profits.

This approach is best combined with an oil-fired power plant as insurance, because if the wind doesn't blow, the electricity will run out.

Solar panel power generation is subject to snow accumulation in cold regions, so there is a possibility that the expected effect may not be fully achieved. However, wind power generation works even when it snows. Therefore, this system is suitable for cold regions with strong winds. Perhaps this idea will change the world. It will take humanity to the next step.

Greenhouse farming is possible using greenhouses. The temperature inside the greenhouse is controlled with an electric heater. You can harvest vegetables in your own area.
